For most of you, the answer would be nothing, but we see a lot of scope and potential.

Where It All Began

Santosh Group was founded by Shri Sohanlalji Chowdhary as a trading house for spices, grains, starch, and various other products. In 1951, with experience in the field of trading starch, the company decided to venture into the manufacturing of super specialty starch. We saw an opportunity in the growing demand of paper, textiles, adhesives, and numerous other industries. Hence, we seized the chance and utilized it in the best possible way.

Keeping up with this thought and zeal, we added a new member to the Santosh family. In 1990, we acquired Salem Glucose Private Limited (now known as Santosh Limited). One of the Largest Corn Wet-willing Facilities in South India. We are amazed and full of pride that we have come so far. The ride was never easy, but we have managed to carve a name that is recognized for its high standards of quality and dedication. We look forward to many more years of serving our clients and reaching homes across the globe.

We convert what seems like an everyday thing called starch into products that find application in industries such as paper, food, oil drilling, textiles, and pharmaceuticals, to name a few. Shri Sohanlalji Chowdhary

(Our Founder)

Santosh Group was founded in 1951 by the late Shri Sohanlalji Chowdhary, and it has had a remarkable journey of more than 75 years. It was his passion and drive for developing quality products to provide the best solutions to industries that helped form this company. It was purely his unparalleled motivation that turned his hard work into a world-class manufacturing unit.

It was his ingenuity and willpower that set his company on its innovative course. His secret recipe for success was nothing more than to be observant and have an eye on opportunities lurking around, which could create solutions that were never thought of before. He was an innovator who wanted to provide products of the highest quality at competitive prices. Our principles, values, and almost everything that we follow today have come from him. He wasn’t just the founder but a leader and an inspiration for the company. The rich legacy that he has left behind is something we keep close to our hearts and wish to carry forward always.

Mahaveer Chowdhary

(Chairman & Managing Director)
Mr. Mahaveer started quite young and has seen the organization grow through thick and thin. He manages the various business units and core functions, including a special focus on research and development. One of the key aspects behind the huge success of the organization lies in constantly diving deep to create path-breaking solutions. It’s his futuristic approach and the drive to excel in every aspect that inspires one and all.

Sumanth Chowdhary

(Executive Director)
Mr. Sumanth Chowdhary joined the company as a marketing executive and now handles aspects related to company strategy, planning, and operations. He is responsible for the company’s market-leading portfolio and has served in a variety of executive roles. He looks after the acquisition and, along with that, provides oversight to the company’s largest technology investment program for reliability, excellence, and quality.

Shrikant Chowdhary

(Executive Director)
Mr. Shrikant Chowdhary is the Executive Director of Enterprise Informatics; he is responsible for the development and commercialization of products and services that are intended to turn data into actionable information for researchers. He manages the implementation of firm policies around training, staffing, recruiting, and account management, which not only result in a premium client base but even a positive work environment that encourages a pattern of long-term staff retention.

Our Journey So Far

1951

Chowdhary Finance Corporation established by Shri Sohanlalji Chowdhary at Salem Tamil Nadu.

1953

Santosh Corporation at Salem Shevapet established Trading House for Sago business.

1970

Chowdhary Warehousing Corporation at Salem, Tamil Nadu to provide warehousing facilities to MNC & international companies like Nestle, Parry, Nutrine etc.

1973

Chowdhary Finance Corporation and Chowdhary Warehousing Corporation merged and were renamed Santosh Corporation. A new office was opened in Mumbai as a trading house to expand the trading business in various commodities such as corn, turmeric, sago, black pepper, chilli powder, tapioca starch, and jaggery across Central and Western India.

1978

Opened a new office at New Cloth Market, Ahmedabad, to establish a trading business in raw maize and tapioca starch in the Western Region, catering to the textile industry.

1983

Acquisition of Meghdeep Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. At Lambha Ahmedabad, further Name Changed into Santosh Industrial Fats Ltd. having manufacturing facilities of oil, Chemicals, acids and Specialty Starches.

1989

Acquired Salem Glucose Pvt. Ltd., a Government of Tamil Nadu undertaking with a capacity of 30 MT per day in Salem, Tamil Nadu, engaged in the manufacturing of liquid glucose.

1990

Salem Glucose Pvt. Ltd. Changed into Santosh Maize Industries Ltd. is fully integrated corn wet-milling unit at enhance capacity of 100MT per Day having manufacturing facilities of starches and sweeteners in Salem, Tamilnadu.

1994

Santosh Industrial Fats Ltd Changed into Santosh Starch products Ltd. 30000 Sq. Ft Facility Focused on Trading & Warehousing of Corn & Native Starches.

2001

3000 Sq. Ft New Corporate office inaugurated at Paldi, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

2012

Santosh Starch Products Ltd. at Lambha existing Plant, Machinery & Building was completely upgraded as per the International Standard having capacity of 80MT per Day in 2.5 lac Sq. Ft area. Also added R&D centre facility in 30000 Sq. Ft with state-of-the-art equipment from Mettler Toledo Switzerland.

2013

Imported extrusion lines from USA and ventured into oil drilling having capacity of 1500MT per month at Santosh Starch Products Ltd Lambha plant.

2017

Capacity of Santosh Starch Products Ltd. enhanced to 250 MT per Day of Specialty starches for Paper, Food, textiles, Adhesives and Others. Become a Largest single Point Location for Specialty Starches in India.

2020

Santosh Starch Products Limited, Lambha started Caramel Color Project with 600 Tonnes per Month capacity.

2022

Acquisition of Land 60 Acres for 1000 Tonnes per Day Greenfield Corn Wet Willing Project at Viramgam.

2024

In 2024, we marked a significant milestone in our journey with the successful completion of a 1-megawatt Rooftop Solar Project. This green initiative is a proud testament to our unwavering commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and fostering renewable energy solutions.
